Week 3 Isaiah 40:31
Isaiah 40:31(ESV) 31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 39:6 (ESV) 6 Behold, the days are coming, when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up till this day, shall be carried to Babylon. Nothing shall be left, says the Lord. 1. Be Confident in the Lord. Isaiah 40:27 (ESV) 27 Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord, and my right is disregarded by my God”? Isaiah 40:28 (ESV) 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. 2. The 4 Most Viral Bible Verses Week 2
#3 Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. “I can resist almost anything except temptation.” Oscar Wilde 1. Let God __________ You. James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. “The key to winning the battle over temptation is surrender.” The greatest temptation you will ever face is the one that you think you can handle on your own. 2. Let God __________ You. “…but deliver us from evil. (evil one)” Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. “There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about [the devil and demons]. One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe and to have an excessive and unhealthy interest in them. They are equally pleased by both errors.” C.S. Lewis 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Success is… 1. Experiencing the Presence of God.1 After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, 2 “Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel. 2. Obeying the Principles of God. 7 Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. a) Dig In/Look It Up8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth… b) Let It In 8 …but you shall meditate on it day and night… “A mind that is filled with the Word of God, leads to a heart that is full of the Love of God and a life that is lived in the Wisdom of God.” c) Live It Out 8 … be careful to do according to all that is written in it. 7 … being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. 3. Fulfilling the Purpose of God. 5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.
Today’s Message “Lost & Found”
Luke 15:1-10 (ESV) 1 Now the tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear him. 2 And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.” 1. Be Alarmed Over People Who Are Lost 3 So he told them this parable: 4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? 8 “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it? 2. Focus Our Concentration Over People Who Are Lost 4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? 8 “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it? 3. Celebrate When Lost People Are Found 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ 9 And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.’ 7 Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. 10 Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” |
